The Monsoon is fast approaching......

It was hot and sunny when I snapped a photo of my Nicandra in bloom.

I also snapped a pic of my baby Wisteria showing off good vigour.........

and a shot of my tiny grapes hanging on the vine just outside our living room window.

Suddenly big drops of rain fell fast, brought by a rather brisk wind. The big drops only lasted a few minutes. They have gone leaving a fine drizzle that looks like it will remain for sometime despite the strong sunlight.... aaahhh the monsoon is really fast approaching!!

  2. Hi Zetsubou ....this was bought online...this is my second try at planting wisteria...yep with the lovely fragrant clusters of hanging blooms...d first try was of seeds sent by frenz in d US...only one germinated...but after hanging-on-to-dear-life-for-quite-a-long-time.....well it just wasn't strong enough to accilamatize...it gave up n died on me....!!

    1. none that i know of up to date...a fren once told me that there is a wisteria plant in KL... whereabouts... not sure...not sure whether it IS a wisteria....BTW mine seems to b going fine at the moment...probably becoz itz d monsoon season n d days have been rather cool....m rather anxious over the looming hot days of the near future...not sure whether it will survive...anyway heard that wisteria will only flower at about 5 - 10 years old...siigghh i do have a long wait even if it does survive d hot weathers....

  9. Hi Lilian... not doing very well... but still surviving tho... think it abhors our hot n humid climate...anyway it seems to b perking up a bit lately... new shoots growing... however from past experience d leaves usually tend to curl up a bit when itz hot... then slowly will turn yellow n drop... well i don't know about others... probably somewhere out there there are luckier gardeners with 'much-greener-fingers' (LOL..) who may have been able to grow it better ......!!

  10. Hmmm I ain't an expert either haha so I can't help, but I am a newbie in gardening and doing some research for plants for my new house I'm moving into. I really think I'm borned in the wrong country coz I love garden roses, wisterias and hydrangea bushes!! I can only enjoy them when I travel overseas. :( but probably that's why I am now a florist haha! Perhaps it is our heat..wonder if it can be slowly climatise. Perhaps it has a better chance in Cameron highlands.

    1. Salaaam Farhan Khaider.... sooo sorry for this belated response.... i seldom visit this blog nowadays... though i did get notification abt messages coming in thro email... AND I DID REPLY in/thro the email... however i do not know why that response was not published here....

to respond to your message... yeah i do think wisteria will do betterin the ground rather than in a pot.... however a big enough pot would still do fine... anyway wisteria can be turned into a bonsai... therefore growing it in a pot shud not b a problem....

i once came across a posting by a FB friend... if i m not mistaken d name was Chang Ching... she said her wisteria has bloomed.... only 1 or was it 2 stalks... well i cant quite remember... wat i do remmber was ...she mentioned that growing wisteria here in malaysia is not worthwhile.... i suppose she is quite right... but well this very stubborn gardener is still harboring... a tiny slice tho.... hope that her wisteria WILL ONE DAY REWARD HER WITH SOME FRAGRANT BLOOMS.... dunno how long still i will have to wait... but s long s itz still living n not dead... tho not healthily vigorous... wait will i.... :))
