A 'Newborn' Butterfly....

in my backyard this morning i found a small 'newborn' butterfly...not ready for flight...

it is clinging to my poor citrus plant....eaten up bare of leaves....the predecessor of this butterfly ...a green caterpillar...siigghh i did not have the heart to kill it off...thus sacrificing my Limau Kasturi plant......i notice that butterflies really love to lay their eggs on citrus plants...always find their caterpillars on this citrus and that citrus plant....there were a few on this poor citrus last week gorging up its leaves till bare.....really really hope this poor citrus will recover.....  think a couple of the other butterflies have taken flight leaving this late one behind.... basking in the gentle morning sun...waiting to dry up and take off in flight....once it dries up it will be flying about in my garden....
Good morning, good day beautiful butterfly
So busy flying by
Why do you fly flitter flutter by
All around all around
All day long
In my great big garden
All day long
Butterfly, beautiful butterfly
Who looks after you ?
who feeds you so ?
I think I know
None other than Allah the most High
                Goodbye, goodbye beautiful butterfly
Till we meet again
Look after my garden my trusted friend.......

My Few Bunches of Grape....

....are slowly growing bigger....sooo slowly....while i am counting days to harvest!! I do not know the name of this grape of mine.....it is probably White Malaga....??? Well.....i m not sure...there was no name tag attached to it when i bought it at a local nursery.....we Malaysians  are not very particular about plant names and knowing them....unlike gardeners of temperate climes.....hope this will change.....i for one gets very frustrated when i do not know the name of a plant that i have....!!

And the bud has unfurled....

only hours ago...it was a tight little bud....now it has unfurled into a beautiful bloom...

.and tomorrow or may be a day after tomorrow..... it will be a spent little flower....aahhh the inevitability of life.....how fleeting is beauty.....how temporal .....not just this little flower...everything....our own lives even....everything is temporal .....nothing stays the same.....each with a specific time allocation He allows us.....today is a fine beautiful day......but tomorrow may be full of rain....the sky is blue  today....it may be full of black clouds tomorrow......still He decides and to Him we all entrust and submit.....

On a day so fine
White clouds are fluffy
The sky is  blue and is so pretty
Subhanallah  to God Almighty
For a day so fine that makes me happy

On a day less fine
Black clouds look angry
The sky is dark and is so scary
Subhanallah to God Almighty
For a day less fine that makes me worry

On a day so fine
White clouds are fluffy
The sky is  blue and is so pretty
Subhanallah  to God Almighty
For a day so fine that makes me happy
Alhamdullillah to God Almighty
For a day so fine I am so happy...

Buds in the sun....

Full of sweet promise......these Mulberry buds are 'being cooked'...They will be burgeoning with nutrients...vitamins and minerals as they ripen under the sun. I am really looking forward to my first harvest....from this plant that is. Read that the leaves make good tea for general health...but i have never tried it....am too used to Boh...!!

Add caption

These Chrysothemis pulchella buds and leaves add much welcome colour in the garden.  This very easy to grow plant is rather shy of strong sunlight, thus makes very suitable houseplant. The shiny bronzy leaves provide a beautiful background to the small cheery yellow and orange flowers.

Then there is also this pretty Portulaca just waiting to open up to the gentle morning sun......
...and this Rose too....though slower to unfurl compared to the humble Portulaca....hopefully the cooler temperatures of these few monsoon months will further delay...or rather reduce the speed of  the opening of this little bud...thus delay it  from becoming spent....in the heat of our Malaysian climate...roses tend to open and bloom too fast and before you know it your bloom is spent...!

This Garlic Vine is another cheery addition to the garden scene....

My Mystic Beauty....

the blooms may not be as big as in England...where the plant came from....but they seem to be doing well.  Think it is because it is the monsoon season and daily temperatures lately have been rather cooler.  Hope my Mystic Beauty will gather enough strength to brace the heat of after-d-monsoon months....when the hot season arrives....

The Monsoon is fast approaching......

It was hot and sunny when I snapped a photo of my Nicandra in bloom.

I also snapped a pic of my baby Wisteria showing off good vigour.........

and a shot of my tiny grapes hanging on the vine just outside our living room window.

Suddenly big drops of rain fell fast, brought by a rather brisk wind. The big drops only lasted a few minutes. They have gone leaving a fine drizzle that looks like it will remain for sometime despite the strong sunlight.... aaahhh the monsoon is really fast approaching!!
